After reading all the responses I've opted to do a day trip to Warrior creek this wknd and do an overnighter in Brevard next wknd to hit up the Dupont trails along with the breweries after.  All weather permitting of course.  Looking forward to both. Smiley

The Dirt Divas will be leading guided rides from the Hub to the Pisgah Ranger Station area trails next Sat Aug 6.

Open to men & woman.  It was our most popular day trip last year.

Great way to check out those trails if you've never been.  And an opportunity to hang out at the Hub too!

I'll post details soon.

I'm super jealous. Wish I could peel away from wedding planning and household projects for two weekends in a row... Warrior Creek, Brevard / Dupont, Breweries!! Livin' the dream!! ...if only for a few weeks.

Enjoy!!

Me and some guys decided hit up WC yesterday.  WOW really nice up there.  Elevation change isn't that bad a little here a little there, flows good.  We rode WC then headed to OVT and rode part of that.

are there any maps of OVT and WC

At the visitor center by the dam, the camp office at WC, and at the parking fee hut at berry mountains. I believe there is one on line on the Brushy Mountain Cyclist website

Not that I consider myself a novice, but do you have a slower group that goes out on those rides?

Hands down the best flowing and smoothest trails around......Head up to Paddys Creek...aka Lake James.   Nothing technical at all,  Just super fast and flowing, some elevation gain here and there,....but just plain fun and fast!
Plus you can always jump in the lake for a swim while your there

We will have 3 groups with mileage & pace appropriate; advanced, intermediate & beg/casual.

The "intermediate" (which is probably more of an advanced intermediate), will take a few breaks on the climb, but you should not mind some sustained climbing.   I would say you need to be able to ride 1.5-2 hrs with breaks.

I read this thread and got inspired. Last weekend the wife and I went to DuPont for the first time and did 11.6 miles including our finale for the day Ridgeline. Ridgeline was awesome. Best trail ever. Nothing I have ridden anywhere in NC compares to that so far.  There a few times when I was blasting down Ridgeline that I took flight without realizing I was going too. That's quite a cool feeling. Also, compressing into the suspension on a 5 foot high banked turn isn't too shabby either.  Loved breaking in the new tubeless rubber on the Trek Fuel Ex 650b's as well.   Then today we rode the OVT trail for the first time. Really enjoyed it. Did an out and back on OVT plus one of the side loops and it was around 15.2 miles. OVT wiped us out....they had some rain yesterday and it was very humid, more so than DuPont for sure. OVT was like a rain forest compared to DuPont, but that could have been due to the rain. Also, I am surprised OVT is a green, it's more of a blue IMO.  Some sections are pretty steep and skinny, and other sections you can fly down and easily get flicked off and go down a steep bank towards the lake.  Just thought I would throw that out there. If OVT is a green, everything at Beatty that is blue is actually a green. Anywho, really enjoyed our 2 day trips. Thanks for all the advice and suggestions in this thread.

If you enjoyed Ridgeline, try Greenslick at Bent Creek. Or if you want to go for the wild side, try Kitsuma outside of Old Fort Smiley

This!!!!  Since I am such a big fan of Lake Norman trails and someone mentioning this is similar....I opted for Lake James State Park instead of Warrior Creek.  Maybe best trail I have ever ridden.  Tons and tons of flow......SUPER FAST!  Whoever built this trail system did an amazing job.  Also as mentioned above the lake is right there to cool down after your ride.  To me it was like Lake Norman on steroids.  I highly recommend to anyone of all skill levels.

I rode Tsali for the first time 2 weekends ago. It's a bit further than the other trails on this thread but it's worth it. I rode part of the right, all of the left, the Cliff trail. The view from the top is amazing. Great trail, great view and lots of place to explore in between Clt and the NOC.
