I don't wash my bike at all anymore - learned the hard way that water and bikes don't mix.

The question I have is WHY do you need a new BB? Is it creaking?  Is it spinning rough?  Creaks can come from lots of things, even if they sound like they're coming from the BB.  They could just as likely be coming from pedals, hubs, QR skewers, headsets, etc.

The creaking was definitely the BB.  Bearings were completely washed out and dirty. The shifting problem was a cable that was loose.  Got the bike back last night and rode super clean this morning.  Thanks Bikesource! Lesson learned, wipe down bike instead of spraying and save up for better components.  Going to change out drivetrain for the next upgrade and install a higher quality BB, then on to the front fork.  Can't wait!!  Feels so good to have bike back in working order "for now"
