Not really In the market, but after riding a bunch of rock strewn and rooted trails lately. I thought maybe I would start checking out some FS. I remember at one time, I wanted a Trek fuel. I saw a ex 5 29 for $2199. Looked good. Is there anything else I should be looking at ?

depending on your size I have a Large 2012 Santa Cruz Tallboy Carbon for sale for around that price point. It is in great condition and has many upgrades.

$2200 for an EX 5 is pretty high. Trek CLT just sent out an email today, 2016 EX 5 $1500 & EX 7 $2k. 

I got hooked on FS after doing a trek demo at USNWC 2yr ago and loved the fuel EX. I was leaning towards the 8 or 9 but ended up getting a great deal here for a nicely upgraded mostly XTR stumpjumper, and it's great, similar ride to the fuel in my opinion.
