Take advantage of great weather and come join us for a couple of hours. Ultimate Greenscapes will bring a machine and an operator to help us make this trail a reality.

8:30am to 11:30am

Gloves and water encouraged.

Behind the Morrison Family YMCA: 9405 Bryant Farms Rd, Charlotte, NC 28277
Park at the Pavillion parking lot where you'll see a small shed.

Please post or PM me if you can make it so I can get a head count and bring enough tools.

Had a chance to ride the trail today and wanted to thank you and the rest of the crew for your work. I did want to pass along that we have a tree down in the back section over by the old jump line. Guessing it's about 18" in diameter so a decent sized chain saw is going to be required. I'm working some long hours this week but can pitch in on Sunday if you need a hand.
Regards
Jeff

I removed it this morning. I work for P&R and saw it yesterday as I was riding.

I rode this trail last week and saw the work that you guys did. Looking good. I was a little confused why the guys re-worked the section of new trail that was already done.  I would have thought they would have worked on something new but I am sure there is a reason.   But the 1 mile loop that is done and is now being maintained is nice.   There is also some other old, out of bounds stuff out there but it is not on park and rec property and is very overgrown and hard to follow/not maintained.  (not part of the plan)   Does anyone know what the next new addition or section is planned for development?

There is still a lot to be done on the ballfields loop.  What everyone is riding was just rough cut in by the machine and now has to be finished packed and groomed. Berms also need to be added and then we will move onto the next phase which will be the woods behind the middle school.  Ps  thanks for clearing that tree!

Thank you everyone for your input and help. This trail is shaping up to be pretty cool and can't wait to finish the beginner's loop so we can move onto the next section. We have a workday planned for this Saturday at the same time as always, 8:30 to 11:30. Then there will be another next week.

What's up everyone!. That trail is coming along little by little. It is taking some time but you know how that goes. Just a few helping out does not make any justice since not much gets done. Lots of thanks to those that have helped, your collaboration is highly appreciated. Count me in, I will see you Saturday at the crack of dawn. Donuts will be on me.  Grin

It usually takes me about 6-8 months of Sundays to finish 2 miles of trail at Fisher by hand.  That's averaging 6 volunteers each day.

Hope that give's everyone some perspective as to how much effort it is to build trails. Smiley
In other words;

WE WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE MORE VOLUNTEERS COMING OUT AND HELPING BUILD THE TRAILS WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE TO RIDE! Smiley

Luis,
I'll try to get out this week if my flight in on Friday isn't too late.  If not you can count on me the following Saturday. Too much business travel the past couple of months.
Cheers
Jeff

Almost finished with all this house sale/buying/moving/unpacking madness. Closing on the old house Tuesday and have some repair/punchlist items to finish up tomorrow so I won't be able to make the work day but hopefully will be back to a normal life next week.
