I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to everyone who helped us out for Cyclofest! And to everyone who stopped by the tent just to chat and socialize too. Your efforts and support are very much appreciated!  Wink

And thanks for all the work you did Emily, Tom and the rest of the crew! Hopefully we picked some future trail crew volunteers!

Yup.  Just wanted to second that.  Had about 30 people for the workday and many others that helped man the tent to help get the word out about what we do.  I think it was a great weekend for the organization and we could not have done it with out your help.  Thank you

If you werent there it was a great event!

Demo bikes flying around, the Big dogs (Niner, Santa Cruz, Specialized, Trek, etc) were out in force.

It was a great time to talk to the brands we all know and get some face time with real people... not just web sites. It was great to see the smaller guys there, new brands I have never heard of, and the regional folks all out supporting cycling. Wouldn't surprise me if this becomes THE trade show for the US market in a few years... InterBike who? haha

side note... I saw Tom on an eBike so we cant be friends now but otherwise a great event!

I rode an e bike at the fest. Felt weird not to be coughing up a lung on the climbs. The rear derailleur on electronic shifting has a small motor to move it up and down. So lets stop all the hate on pedal assist. I walked around all the tents for over three hours talking to all the manufactures.  It was cool to see Grava bikes coming out with an Alloy frame. And I liked the compression sleeve amour from G-Form. You can carry it in your pocket or hydration pac Smiley

That's correct. Your trip up the mountain with your butt on a ski lift is not mountain biking.

I was really surprised at how much more trail is at the WWC since the last time I was there. How hard are the newer sections?

East extensions will challenge your lungs and legs. A lot of bench cut. Some switch backs. Some tough off camber turns at the base of the descents. Cardio-wise, the hardest section of trail at WWC, in my opinion (used to be North + fig. 8).

Academy is a fresh new flavor for WWC and is a good technical challenge, with some decent climbing as well.  A lot of short steeps. The trail snakes around a lot to keep things interesting. The use of terrain feels similar to Backyard Trail, minus all the jumps.
