Say it ain't so, Steve!  Shocked

(Or at least say that you'll build a bridge over the ravine)

No surly I would not do such a thing adding insult to injury on an already torturous trail. Cry I did originally plan on a rather long and massive bridge but have decided to go a different approach with maybe 3 crossings in that area with a curved U bridge rather than a flat to retain that kinetic energy to get up the other side. No time line as this is firewood cutting weather.

Stopped and walked a bit of it today. Looks like a fun new challenge in the making. You're always finding new ways to keep riders honest out there. Thanks for all the work you put in, Steve. Trail was perfect this morning.

I looked for this last time I was out (while ago at this point), where is this supposedly going to be?

You can't miss it if you do heartbreak.  When your coming up the climb after the downhill you will see part of it with a new bridge to the left.  Keep going an the entrance is on the left before you get to the end of heartbreak

I saw tracks today where someone did the first three bridge crossings on the next piece.
Wish I had seen it so I could see where adjustments are needed. By the way this isn't officially open as it doesn't tie anywhere and dead ends.

Java Jeff got the package Thanks! Smiley

Started on it and saw how new it was... and doubled back! Still learning my way around at Steves so I'll let others shed first blood there Wink

Saw him building the U bridge on it - looks amazing.

I saw that bridge yesterday for the first time.  I think "holy s**t" were the first two words out of my mouth.

I've opened the section as an out and back. You will enter to the left cross 4 of the bridges then merge back into a short piece that will have 2 way traffic. For now envision a trail with a teardrop at the end. Don't think you will want to do the bridges backward. Still pretty soft be easy on the brakes so I don't have ditches to repair. Some traffic will help me see the lines that need adjustment. Also the trail between bridge 3 and 4 is just a quick loop now but will be extended by a lot in the future.

Rode it yesterday - it was awesome!  The first of the four bridges definitely g's you out a little suddenly as you cross the bottom, but the others are fantastic.  Just enough momentum to make it through each section, and not as hard as it looks (it looks crazy, btw).

Seemed to join back into the trail just like it's supposed to - wasn't sure if we missed a section or what, but it worked out fine.

Loved it!

Those last 2 (unopened) bridges  Shocked Shocked   Will you leave the ropes in place to drag our bikes out if we're unable to get up either side?  Otherwise I can see having to leave my bike in the gully and walk out. I guess I could push downstream until the ground levels out.

When these climbs open, No Name will hang its head in shame...no longer the king of climbs.

Just a request to the rider that decided to unblock the trail at the spot that leads to bridges 5 & 6 of this loop. It was blocked for a reason not ready to be opened. As it is a little soft has additional touches to be done and no exit prepared after the 6th bridge. I don't mind so much that you wanted to look it over or even give it a try I appreciate that. But the fact that quite a bit of debris that was used to block entry at that point was removed and not replaced Angry. This would lead anyone else to think it was open and ready to go which it is not.

I have decided that I will bring the trail on out after bridge 6 and rejoin it at heartbreak so it will not be an out and back. Should get that done this week. It is advised that when the part after bridge 4 is opened that you look it over as evaluate the conditions and your skills.

Cherokee,I have seen several different riders doing the first 4 bridges and the only part that is tricky to climb is the 20 feet after bridge 4. (Some of these riders were 50-60 year old range.) The others are like the Plunge and are commitment factors. Believe me this part being developed is meant to be fun and challenging not hard. No Name still will be the king.

As soon as I'm better I can't wait to go give your new stuff a try. It's been some time since I have been your way and I have a need to get schooled by your trail building skills. Thanks Steve for doing what you do and all the time money and effort that you have put in to open up your property to all of us to get our asses kicked! I know you can't hear the golf claps that I am giving you but it is out of respect. This also goes out to All the TC in the area who give up riding time to make the area trails some of the best around. Man do I need to get back out on the bike ASAP! I'm hoping to get back to it around tour de Charlotte time.

Steve, I know how you feel! I would block off go-arounds at LNSP to keep riders on the marked trail and they would spend lots of minutes moving stuff so they could ride something they didn't have the skills to ride. Keep up the good work and I'm like Scott, I need to get down there and ride RRT. I'm going to get the bike out and ride a little bit in a few. It's too warm for me to ski, so it's bike riding time.
