Stroh's

On my holiday trip to Detroit b, I got to try the new micro brewed version of Stroh's. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links); I consumed a couple of sixes while in town, and bought a six home. The way brews are showing up everywhere, I thought I should be able to score some here. Haven't found any yet. The beer has a large malty body, with a light hoppy finish. It reminds me of the taste of the first beer I ever tasted. Which just happened to be a Stroh's. If this becomes available down here, it could become my go to beer. The regular Stroh's lauger is still available, but it tastes light compared to the new version. It is also more readily available down here in the south🍺🍻

From what I can recall it was swill back then............

From what I recall when I was a teenager. I remember their ads saying they were fire brewed, don't know if it makes them any better. In Detroit, us youngsters, heard that Food's was the best. It wasn't available in the east back then. When I traveled to other states, all the kids wanted Stroh's. Which wasn't available in a lot of places outside Michigan. When Stroh's acquired the Schlitz brewing company, they events closed The brewery in Detroit. I remember,my Cousin Mike lost his job there. It was one of the best places to work outside of the auto shop's. On a side note, the brewery was popular for its tours, and the bottomless free pitchers of beer in in the Strohaus after the tours. You could sneak in and join any of the tours if you wanted to get free beer. Eventually, even though Stroh's took over Schlitz brewing, Stroh's was overshadowed by many of the Schlitz brands. And began their decent to lower priced swill. They are now distributed by PBR. When I turned 18, I started the every month trip across the river for my two case allotment of the much stronger ABV beer at either the BEER STORE or duty free in Windsor,Ontario. So Stroh's was never a beer that I readily consumed back in the day. Unless I felt like joining a tour  for my always favorite..........FREE BEER😉🍻🍺😝

Lowenbrau was from the Miller Brewing Company. Anheuser-Busch had Michalob Dark, which was tasty. Weird that they lost all sense of reality, and started to make ultra😏🍺😢

Too funny... I lived in Italy from 2004 to 2010 and the Simpsons were even more popular there than here. Italians are nuts for Homer.

I liked Olympia. Weren't they the one's who advertised their brew being made by artisans? I always thought they were talking about little elves......What can I say, I did a bunch of other 💩when I was young. Besides drinking beer👹👿
