Glad you enjoyed riding it.  Let me know next time your out this way and I will be glad to ride with you.  Since you are still riding I guess your wife is still keeping the baby to herself.   Cheesy

Heading out on Saturday morning (11/11 between 9-1) to work on two new re-routes and a new section of trail.  Both of these are at or near the entrance of the trail. I have flagged and done some preliminary clearing, now need to finish clearing and start doing the finishing cut. If you want to help or provide some input in the trail before it is finalized come on by.  I will have tools (unless you like using your own), so you just need gloves and water.  Long pants and shirts also recommended since the trails are still in their beginning stages.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.   Smiley

Thanks Dave and Jay for helping me get a lot done this weekend.  Everybody I ran into liked the new reroute on Scott's Loop and the new entrance trail is looking good and is almost ride-able.

Thanks again.

BIG SHOUT OUT TO GASTON COMPOSITE NICA TEAM! Grin

They came out and did some great work helping to rebuild some berms that were in need of a lot of dirt.  Big thank you to all the NICA racers and the adults who helped guide (and worked pretty hard too) them.  I can't wait to get out and try the berms out.

Kudos to the Gaston Composite Leaders for setting up the service time and allowing the kids to assist in maintaining the trails at RBP.  Cheesy

Here are a few pictures of their completed work.

Heading out on Saturday morning (2/3/18 between 9:00-1:00) to work on new Ravine Loop (advance loop off of SWC Extension).  Will meet at the top of the power climb (will leave map the entrance showing where we are working for those not familiar with trail).

I have flagged and done some preliminary clearing, now need to finish clearing and start doing the finishing cut. If you want to help or provide some input in the trail before it is finalized come on by.  I will have tools (unless you like using your own), so you just need gloves and water.  Suggested Dress: In layers.

Big Thanks  Cheesy to Mike, Alberto and Hank for helping out Saturday.
Heading back out again (weather permitting) this Saturday (and most likely Sunday) morning (2/10/18 and 2/11/18) between 9:00-2:00, to continue work on new Ravine Loop (advance loop off of SWC Extension).  Will meet at the top of the power climb (will leave map the entrance showing where we are working for those not familiar with trail).

Thanks to those that came out last week to lend a hand. Cheesy  And thanks to those that came out last night to help provide some guidance in how we can make this loop a lot more exciting.  Grin

I plan to be out there this weekend (9 to 2) working on the new loop.  If you would like to help or see what is planned come on out.  Once again the new loop is at the top of the power climb in the ravine.

Need to get the trail ready for the CYCL race the following weekend.

Got a bunch of dirt to spread out and pack in (at the entrance), also need to give the trail a good once over before the race (get rid of all the face slappers and grabbers).

When: 5/5 and 5/6
Where:  Rocky Branch Trail, Main entrance
Time: 5/5 8:00 to 2:00 5/6 10:00 to 2:00
What to bring:  Gloves, water, (loppers, shovel and wheel barrow if you can), otherwise tools will be provided.

Hope to see you out there so we make the trail shine for the race.

As always, THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.    Grin

A new App for your phone for looking and signing up for workdays.  Its Called Golden Volunteer.

Used it to Create an event for Rocky Branch.  Get details, have emergency contact automatically applied, sign wavier, have hours tracked and logged.  Try it out and let me know what you think.

Heading out tonight (5/9) and again tomorrow night after work (5:00 pm) to try and finish shaping the berms (piles of dirt right now) that I moved last weekend.  Would like to get them nice for the CYCL race this Sunday.  All the work to be done is at the entrance of Rocky Branch.  Flat shovels welcomed, otherwise we got the tools.

In case you were wondering where all the dirt went, it allowed us to build some cool berms and tables (all shaped, packed and ready to ride).  See attached pictures.

Now on to the next project (yes there is always something to do in the woods).

I will be out this Saturday (6/30/18 from 8:00 to 1:00) working on a new creek crossing and bridge.  If you would like to come out and help that is always great.  From the main entrance just follow the right-away to the creek crossing and you will find me working there.  Bring boots (we will be working in the creek) bug spray and water (to drink).

Hope to see you there. Smiley
