Saturday 4/29 11:00 to 3:00 Meeting and working at the front entrance section (Pump Track).  Need to finish installing drain lines and building up one of the corners.  Have dirt and rock, just need manpower to help move it.

Bring gloves and water (bug spray might be good too after all this rain).  IF you have a favorite wheelbarrow or shovel please feel free to bring it otherwise tools will be provided.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

Bruce, is this work on the pump track ?  If so I'll spread the word to a couple of my friends that live near Rocky Branch and ride the pump track.  One of the guys that helped us build the pump track, Matt Meadows, has been going out there and doing some continued packing and shaping work.

Thursday 5-11-17; 5:15 to dark (bring head lamp just incase).
Meeting at top of the baseball field entrance (top of power climb).

Replacing the existing wood bridge on the advance section of the SWC trail. Need some manpower to move two 12 ft poles from current location to work site and rebuild the bridge.

Bring gloves and water (bug spray might be good too) Headlamp if you plan on staying awhile.  If you can bring a cordless drill that would be helpful since mine seems to die pretty quick otherwise all other tools will be provided.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

Saturday 7-8-17; 8:00 am til .. .
Meeting at main entrance, but will be working on new section of trail that will extend the out and back RR track loop.  If you come late go to where the loop turns back to the exit.

We will be doing final clearing (stump removal) and some benching to make the trail ready to ride.

Bring gloves and water (bug spray also highly recommended as well as long pants).  If you have a your own favorite trail tool please feel free to bring it otherwise tools will be provided.

This is your chance to get rid of all that quilt you feel as you ride by the trail gnomes working hard on the trail while your enjoying a fun ride in the woods. Wink. Hope to see you out there.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

I to want thank those who came out to help on the new section of trail.  It was very hot out and I know you could have been doing something much cooler.  So your choosing to spend time helping out on the trail was greatly appreciated.

We made a lot of progress, but there is still some more work to be done before the new section can be opened for riding.   I am planning on heading back out there again this Saturday (7/15) same place, same time.

So if that guilt of not helping is weighting you down or you just feel like sweating through all of clothes, come out and lend a hand.  Wink

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

The trail is in good shape, but I want to make it in top shape for the Sept. meeting.

Working this weekend (8/26 and 8/29) from 8:00 to 12:00
Meeting at trail head, but if you come late there will be a number or map showing where we are working.  I would like to fix a creek crossing and build up a couple of berms that have been worn down.

Bring gloves and water (bug spray also highly recommended as well as long pants).  If you have a your own favorite shovel/trail tool please feel free to bring it otherwise tools will be provided. Extra wheel barrows always welcomed.

Since I am still not 100% (recovering from a pulled back muscle), I will not be able to get much done this time out without the help of others.  Sorry to use the pity play Sad

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

Gaston Composite (Gaston county NICA team) will be out at Rocky Branch Park helping getting the trail ready for the CYCL race on Sunday.  Come on out and help show these young volunteers how to help maintain the great trails we ride.

When: Saturday Oct 28 from 12:00 to 4:00.
Where: Meet at the trail head, but if you come late there will be a number or map showing where we are working.
What: Building up some berms in need of dirt, general trail maintenance and setting up for CYCL race the next day.

Bring gloves and water (bug spray also highly recommended as well as long pants).  If you have a your own favorite shovel/trail tool please feel free to bring it otherwise tools will be provided. Extra wheel barrows always welcomed.

If you can't make it Saturday, I know the CYCL crew is always looking for volunteers Sunday (8:30 to 12:00) to help with the kids races.

Hope to see you out there.  THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

Hey Bruce, nice meeting you at Cyclofest. I bought the blue THTB tee with my 8.5 month pregnant wife =). I am going to make it out for the trail work this Saturday at Rocky Branch. I am going to bring my mattock and rake, but I've got a couple of soil tamps, trenching and spade shovels, and wheel barrow. As far as materials go I have a few bags of drainage gravel and 4-inch drainage pipe that i need to find use for somewhere. Is there any need for extra equipment or materials?

Hopefully your wife can hold off until after this weekend. Grin I don't think we will need the extra material  but the spade and wheel barrow might be helpful.  You can always do what I do, throw everything in the car, that way its there if we need it.  Look forward to seeing you there, thanks for lending a hand. Thank you everyone who helped out this weekend.   The Berms rode nice for the race even with the rain we got.

Thanks again Cheesy

Finally made it out to the trail today. Can you believe hat it was more fun riding, than working on it? It was more climbing than I thought. Still puzzled on the two bridge loop  couldn't get enough speed to get through the root at the top. That huge climb on the backside where it opens up a tad felt like it never ended. I had finally caught my breath when that short pleasant downhill turned into a hard right climb up and out again.. nice trick.. not for the faint of heart. Had to do it twice. Feels good to get the blood pumping. Enjoyed the trail and plan make it out there more often!
