I remember about 13-15 years back. Atkins was a big thing. TGIF Friday's restaurant had a menu item called Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger. Which were two bunless patties. You could go to dinner, have that with a rum and diet coke. No guilt whatsoever😀

carbs arent bad if you eat them at the right time.  don't be such a conspiracist

When I was 25 I didn't have to think about it either, Jon.

This isn't radical or cutting edge nutrition science. It's just works.
And for reasons that are sometimes difficult to figure out beyond the cheap food/profit motives of large food agri-business, government quackery and big pharmacopoeia, why it's not be promoted or in many cases or even acknowledged by the powers that be. Except in regards to ignoring the problem and putting more people on medications to control blood sugar.

Doesn't take a lot of observation in this society, or many plane trips overseas to locations where the western diet isn't prominent to realize there is something seriously wrong with our diets. And nothing worse than riding with or watching somebody struggling with their weight and risking their health. Somebody that hasn't gotten the word on what works, and what doesn't...

Somebody else asked the question, I gave them the answer. Via personal experience and a great deal of research. It's not required for you to even pay attention or even respond if you don't think it's applicable to your own personal situation. One day you'll learn as well. Or you wont. Your choice.
No obligation, no deliveries and no subscriptions necessary.

Atkins is basically just a "low carb" diet, but was done poorly. People weren't able to eat the carbs they needed to fuel their workouts or any type of activity really. The human brain needs a minimum of around 100g or so of carbs a day to function properly if I remember correctly, and some stages of Atkins limited people to less than 50g daily. People felt foggy and would get dizzy often, and some people had kidney and liver problems due to the diet.

The best bet for people looking to lose weight is to match you carb intake to your activity level, and time it correctly. Working out today? then eat low carb until your workout, and afterwards eat a meal with CLEAN carbs in it to help you recover and refill your stores. If you aren't doing a workout that day, keep the carbs to a minimum because your activity level is going to be lower.

I remember when I did Atkins, I was 70 lbs lighter then I am now
Stayed that way for a long time. I started gaining after some surgeries and long periods of inactivity. I had always thought jumping on the bike again would get me back in shape. But it didn't work like it once did

He's right. Atkins was poorly done, but was on the right track. Now, for the most part has become just another corporate trademark.

The human body has no dietary carbohydrate requirement whatsoever. The liver can make any carb requirement the body requires from fat. Sorry Anthem, but most of that is just misinformation.

If you want to know more about this, don't take my word for it..
I just happen to know a Swedish doctor and his colleagues from around the world who are on the cutting edge of science and research about this.
He runs a website at (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
I think you'll be surprised by the information that you find there. Although I'm a member, a good bit of it is free and requires no membership.

If you want to know everything there is at this point, there's an option for a membership at $9.95 a month with the first month free. Which gives you access to the entire site and all the information currently available. Cancel anytime. Practically, you could watch all of the presentations and videos during the first month.

The membership fee is to provide funds to run the website, for research purposes and conduct the interviews with the experts. They take absolutely no corporate or government money.
