I run Mavic Crossmax STs on my 26" full suspension.  Extremely durable and I push them hard.
Internal rim width is only about 19 or 21mm.  Newer wheels have a wider rim internal width which I think I would like but I have never thought of getting rid of the Mavics because of the internal rim width.

I've got a set of Mavic Crosstrails on my 26", love them, even have the flat spokes which are pretty cool. My SPD shoes are Mavic Rush's and love those, too. Mavic is a solid brand as far as I've experienced.

Remember there are different levels of the crossmax from near entry level all the way up to full on race wheels..
