Origin of Sherman Branch trail name?

An odd question I have... It's because of a dream. I've tried a little bit of googling to no avail, does anyone know who named Sherman Branch, and or what/who this trail is named for? Thanks.

In honor of General William Tecumseh Sherman, who is fondly remembered around here for his tour around the southeast in the mid 1800s.

Wrong!!

Its named after Sherman Helmsley who stopped at the exact location the trail is built on when he and Weezy were en route to the East Side and their Deluxe Apt in the sky...

It came from a lyric in Peter Framton's "Do You Feel Like I Do"
"Champagne for breakfast and a Sherman in my hand
Peached up, peached ale, never fails
Must have been a dream I don't believe where I've been
Come on, let's do it again

Do you, you, feel like I do?
How'd ya feel?
Do you, you, feel like I do"
Sherman ,being a long thin cigarette popular in England at the time. When constructing the trail, a lot of cigarettes butts were picked up from the hippy burn outs that used to frequent the park. Hence the name Sherman

Went with Sherman and Peabody back in time and witnessed Sherman driving a Sherman Tank on his famous march to the sea and witnessed him stopping at the creek that happens to be the area for today's Sherman Branch Trail. Ironically Richard Sherman was there to witness it all. Weird

Sherman Hemsley on a Sherman tank with a Sherman in his hand. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

It could be Capt d**e I. Sherman. A shrimp boat transvestite who was famous for his/her seafood feasts. Later went on to open a chain of seafood restaurants known as Capt. D's Grin
