Yes, Fisher Farm is actually open.  Rain gauge showed less than .10" of rain.

Davidson Police Department blocked entry to Fisher Farm last night, 6/15, and said there had been an incident.  Hopefully everyone is OK.

"Davidson Police Department Reports Sexual Assault Incident Today at Fisher Farm:
Suspect in Custody

At 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, the Davidson Police Department responded to a call for service related to sexual assault with attempted rape at Fisher Farm Park on Shearer Road. The victim and suspect were known to each other and the suspect is now in custody.

“We had to ask many park visitors, including mountain bikers and dog walkers, to leave Fisher Farm while we got the situation under control and began conducting our investigation,” said Davidson Police Chief Jeanne Miller. “We wanted to provide an update to citizens to let them know that the park is closed, but that there are no safety threats.”

The Davidson Police Department is conducting an active investigation alongside the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department due to the assault being conducted in our extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ). We anticipate that Fisher Farm Park will re-open at dawn."

I talked with P&R around 7:00 PM and they were told by Chief Miller what had happened. I was asked to not talk about it until it was made public. A couple went for a walk at the park and apparently the young manned refused a "no". The young woman proceeded to call police and he was taken into custody. She is alright as far as I know.
