Was looking to make a trip this upcoming wknd to check out these trails.  My question though is if there is anyway I could find out if the trails are open and/or status before making trip....esp with all this rain we have been getting?  Also if anyone has ridden there how it was?   I'm an intermediate rider overall.  Thx!

I blew up my left shoulder failing on the last little table top on the superD course a little more than 11 years ago.
It was a poor ending to an otherwise efing fantastic day.

I enjoyed the trails a lot.

336-921-3390- This is the number to the visitors center. It is open normal business hours weekdays and to 4 PM on weekends. There is a facebook page with status Its W Kerr Scott Reservoir.
Have ridden there many times. OVT and Warrior are like LNSP on steroids. Dark mountain is a grind up hill and a wahoo down.

If you go and don't ride Dark Mountain, you're doing it wrong.

If you're looking for a nice, easy warm up, there is a new trail at Cub Creek park. It's a less rooty, easier OVT but I still think it is fun and it's just off of 421 on the way in the Wilkesboro.

Speaking of riding in reverse... What is the right direction to ride? I rode Warrior Creek Sunday but wasn't sure what direction was right. The attendant said counter-clockwise but the trailhead took me on a clockwise direction.

Counter-clockwise.  In your first half mile going uphill into the jumpline must have been weird.  In the opposite direction it's a nice reward at the end of a ride, like getting high-fives from the crowd as you approach the finish line.

Your can ride it either way but must people ride it counter clockwise. That's how they run 6h WC race.
I think when they did the Wilks 100 they ran it clockwise but that was some years ago and I'm getting old.
