Just a heads up that the "The Stevest 50k (2017)" will be this coming Sat at RRT.
This is the 3rd year for this event. The orange flagging is marking the trail for runners and includes the entire trail 3 full laps are expected by many participants. I'm not involved in marking or anything else other than approving their request to hold the race here.

To run 3 laps, That is just insane to me. I'm not sure I can ride 3

Plus they are including Death Valley! I questioned that. I can jog up and down all but those last 2 drops guess they will just jump to the bottom Grin

Oh darn, it sucks they capped it at 35 runners. Not very many for that amount of trail. I'da been there otherwise....   Wink

A 50k would be about 31 miles.  3 laps at Steves is more like 40 miles.  It's closer to a 70k.  Nuts.  Freaking nuts.  How long does it take even the fastest runner - 6 or 7 hours????

Is there a heckling station on no-name hill?  Bleachers at Death Valley?  I want to watch this!

I was thinking the same thing on the distance. You know there will be a few pissed off folks after seeing their distance on the first lap. 

I think I'd rather have a root canal.
