We have FOUR spots open in a trail maintenance training session scheduled for this Sunday (August 6th) from 8:30-noon at Lake Norman State Park.  The goal of this training session is to empower trail workers to independently fix maintenance issues and hopefully give them the tools and confidence they need to lead group trail workdays.  We had a full slate of 10 for this training but some scheduling conflicts have opened up spots. 

This session will be led by Craig Brickser of Community Trail Design, along with myself.  The first 30 min will be in a classroom at the park visitors center, then we will head out to the trails for three hours.  We will grill up some hot dogs with light snacks after we put the tools up at noon.

thanks for organizing this Will.   Learned a bunch I plan to put to good use.  One thing this event showed me was just how much work needs to be done continually and how badly we need volunteers to keep these trails in good shape.
