I often browse Craigslist bike ads looking for a deal and came across this>>>

Now I'm not sayin' this is a scam, but it definitely looks suspect in my mind.  Who knows, maybe a wife unloading the cheating hubbies toys?  Or priced to move fast (stolen)?  Or maybe it's the remnants of a bike run over by the family truckster?  I'm not touching this one with a ten foot pole despite my curiosity.   Undecided

I would go with artillery and second car with friends....  I presume you could leave without 900$ and without the bike! Anyway if you have ever to meet someone Matthews police department allows people to meet inside.

It's some kind of scam, that much is certain. I don't get the impression you'll be set up to be the victim of armed robbery- more like a wire fraud approach. 

The photo looks "off" somehow too. I don't know why, but the backdrop and vegetation doesn't seem very "Charlotte" somehow  Undecided. It looks more like Florida to me.

You coukd waste her time and have a little fun in the meanwhile. This guy gives a hilarious TED talk about messing with internet scammers

Definitely a scam.  You see them all the time on Craigslist.  They steal someone else's photo and post it up at a super cheep price.  They always have a email watermarked on the picture.  When you contact them, it turns into a paypal, money order, etc scam.

They are getting a little better with the descriptions though.  At least they pertain to the item being sold.

That tedtalk is awesome.  I wish I had the patience to mess with a scammer for that long just to waste their time for a change.  

Out of curiosity I googled the name to see what would come up.  The first listing is some 70 yr old lady out of Washington state.  Poor lady has probably either been hacked or maybe she's the one scamming everyone.   

Its interesting to me that the email in the photo is the only way you can contact the seller.  No other contact info is listed and no way to contact through craig's list. 

We should set up some fake email addresses and start a fake bidding war for the bike.  We could see how many emails we could send this seller before they go nuts.
