650B road bike wheels... with 100mmx12 thru front?

I am very interested in running the WTB Horizon 650x47c Road Plus TCS tire.  My road bike is on the fitment list so I am reasonably certain they'll fit.  My problem is I cannot find a set of 650B road bike wheels w/ 12x100mm front for less than $1000.  That is a good bit out of my budget for a second set of wheels for beating up my road bike on single track, dirt and gravel roads.

Am I looking for something that just doesn't exist...  or is my google-fu weak?

I can build a set way cheaper than $1000. I would think $500 max would do it. THats with a decent rim.

I'm running a set of Stans Arch mks' with a 700x45 Riddlers. I've run pressure up to about 40psi tubeless on them. I have another set of wheels I built  that have Pacenti TL 28 rims with Conti 4000s in 28c mounted. I was told I could run about 68 psi max on them with a tube. You could build a set of 650/27.5 mtb rims up that would work fine as long as keep the pressures reasonable. WTB makes several rims that would work. A rim 23-25 wide external would be all I recommend. It seems if the internal get much bigger than 22, the tires get a bit square

You didnt say if it was disc or not, but there are options either way

Disc.

I am interested... I ordered a wheelset from Hunt (link above).  The plan is to run those on my bike w/ the WTB Byway tire for a bit and see how that setup rides when the dirt roads get dirty.  If that combo works out I will donate these wheels to the wife and order another set or perhaps commission you to build me a better wheelset.

What would be a decent rim... I was thinking something like WTB Frequency Team perhaps?

Frequency would work. It would be really cool if you could find some old Arch EX rims in 27.5.
