The trail management has been hilariously bad the past few months.  I checked the rain gauge a mile down the road and it says they got 0.02".  Barely a sprinkle.  I passed by earlier this afternoon on 85 and the jump line looked dry as can be.

No idea who is calling the shots out there lately, but they definitely need a different job.

What I rode was prime...  Not sure why they were closed earlier.

On a separate note...  Trails are in need of a trim in a lot of places.

And some erosion control...  Academy power line climb and tower 93 are riddled with gulleys and silt basins.  I wish the mtb community could help or at least advise.

Frankly the Tower trail is totally screwed and not safe to be ridden by most riders out there.  Until they figure out how to manage the water flow on certain trails they will always be less than what they should.

Not $hitting on the entire trail system... It is one of the best in CLT.  With a lot of miles comes A LOT of maintenance... just ask BigBikeMike and Mark... or don't... they'll tell you regardless.Tongue

WWC has done a great job providing fantastic trails... Some much easier to maintain than others... I hope the management out there understands the need to keep staff focused on both maintenance and expansion.

Let's not get too hasty...  Acknowledging that there has been some change in the past 4-6 weeks... they have opened some new trail sections on the thread trail... granted most of it has been cut in for quite a while... it is OPEN.  There is a new bridge at the end of the thread trail which helped with the gawddamn mud pit that someone kept filling with sticks.
In addition there has been some activity around the two mud holes that I affectionately refer to the two "sisters".  (Some of the long term regular WWC beer drinker/riders may understand the reference).  It's not clear what the plan is there... only time will tell.

From what I can see they have tried to keep the silt basins clear and are addressing the problem drains.  All leading to shorter trail closures following inclement weather.

Let's give the new crew the benefit of the doubt before pi$$ing them off.

I really don't understand why people do this. It happens a lot at Beatty, and I assume it's walkers, as they always place the sticks parallel to the trail, making it sketchy to ride over.

That made me LOL!  I have lots to say on the subject but is better discussed/told in private over a bike ride and several cold beers. Wink  I'm riding Fisher after work, BTW. Wink  Somebody needs to bring the cold beer. Smiley
