long story short - a protected east/west bike lane thru uptown connecting little sugar creek greenway with irwin creek greenway. There are a number of people working behind the scenes to make this happen. The are regular meetings open to the public for those that want to be part of the solution. During open streets in October i believe there will be another week long pilot project of a temporary protected lane thru part of uptown.

During Biketoberfest

•      Protected bike lanes: We also wanted to make you aware that there will be two confirmed bike lane demonstrations during the event! This is The first will connect the Irwin Creek and Stewart Creek Greenways along 5th and 6th Street in Uptown —  this is the connection that we’ve been advocating for via our #IBIKECLT campaign since March of 2016!  The second demonstration will run along Mint Street from the Panthers Stadium into the Gold District.
