Water Purifier

Planning for a limited support race that highly recommends carrying a water purifier.  I'll be carrying water bottles, not a hydration pack.  There are quite a few options.  Looking for some guidance on what works best - easy/simple to use, travels well, etc...

TIA!

A lot of people I ride with, and myself, use this filter.  Its always done a good job, very small and light and only about $20.

Thanks!  Looks like it's available locally, too.

x2 on the Sawyer. I don't know where you're going or when, but you do need to keep it from freezing after the first use or it will be useless.

A second caution is that some people complain about the bags splitting. That's because some people try to force water through it too fast. It takes a little time to squeeze water through those tiny fibers...it's not a faucet.

I use a sawyer gravity fed system on long mountain rides where I don't want to carry a ton of water.  Works great! I can fill multiple bottles and camlebaks up at creek crossings.  Light weight and simple o use.

Thanks for all the feedback.  Sounds like the Sawyer is the way to go.

Going to try it out here: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

I meant to order one of those Sawyer filters after my last ride in Pisgah. The guys I was riding with all had them and they were able to refill my camelbak for me.

Thanks for the reminder. Just ordered my own.
