Hi guys maybe some of you may be able to help me. This summer i am going to do a race in Italy. They require a sport medical certificate, which i know is a little bit more extensive than just going to a doc here and ask for one, as they will test you under stress condition, breathing hearth etc. Do you know if there is anyone that does such a certificate here or better to do one in italy?

I just did and they told me a normal us medical certificate is enough. I will do that and hope they are right.

Is it a RACE or a race/ride? If it is a true RACE then you will need a UCI international license. Or you might be doing one of the sponsored vacation setups. Then the company sponsors you for a week through a local club so you can try out some of the amateur races. If so, then you only need proof of a taken physical.

Is it going to be a road or a mountain bike event?

If you want to head to Minneapolis, some of these guys at Mayo are the best. My mentor Jon Finnoff is an avid cyclist and US Ski team doc.

Sure they can handle high end stuff if you need it or may be able to answer questions.

It is a MTB race (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links), but with three levels of partecipation. The firts race level and it is UCI required, the other two levels no. Yes i checked the UCI and the cost is $200 per year, thanks but no thanks, a part that I do not know if I will be ever be able to race 93 km in altitude (or at sea level ahahaha). I took an appointment with the local medicla dr to get a certificate, i will submit it and if they do have problems when i Italy i will go to take their medical certificate. 
Regarding affilitation they accept the USA Cycling as is.

Just to give you an example the Certificato di Idoneita Sportiva in Italy reVisita medica.
Rest ECG
ECG under fatigue, while cycling , running or steps. And blood pressure reading.
Spirometric exam.
Urines test.

Do you think it is really useful?
