Another Trail Ride but forget the pedals!!

Up for sale is my 2003 Yamaha WR-450F in full street legal Dual Sport form. The asking price is $3999, which is a fair price for what I am offering. This bike has a valid NC title and a current tag on it.  Clear title in hand. It is extremely hard to get these bikes street legal here in the Carolinas. This bike was built, maintained and ridden by a person that is almost 60 years old. I really hate to sell this bike but I hardly ever ride it and I'm not getting any younger.

Don't wait on the Honda CRF450L that is due to come out in September at a cost of almost $11000.00!!!  And it's projected to be 30+ pounds heavier than this WR450.  Buy this one today and start riding it now!!

The bike was recently serviced and has new X-ring chain and sprockets, new fork seals and fork oil, new handlebars and grips, new tires, new brake pads, new clutch and hot start cables, new clutch lever, new acerbis style handguards, new folding acerbis dual sport mirror, new battery and a new starter.  It has the updated starter clutch dampener from the later year WR's that eliminates the early starter kick back issues.

This has to be one of the funnest bikes I have ever ridden on the street and trails. It is super lightweight and as nimble as can be. This bike will surprise you on the street. It also gets a lot of crazy looks from people. It does relatively well on gas also although I have never really checked the mileage. My guestimate puts the MPG at about 35-40 miles per gallon.

I purchased this bike (used) a couple of years ago to use for trail riding only. The WR was not ridden that often and it had a good title so I decided to make it street legal to get more use out of it. I really love riding dual sport bikes so I decided to go that route.  I bought the Baja Designs dual sport conversion kit, and I installed an FMF Q4 exhaust system and a YZ450 titanium head pipe that eliminated several pounds over the stock exhaust system.  The carburetor was rejetted to match the pipe and other modifications.  A Trail-Tech computer was added to measure bike speed, miles, battery voltage, and engine coolant temperature. The odometer currently shows 773 miles. It has the YZ style rear fender with the LED tail light and turn signals from the Baja Designs kit. A key switch has also been added for the additional security.

I still have all of the original WR equipment that can be purchased with this bike if you are interested. The original Stock WR450 rear fender and taillight, and stock odometer.  I also have an additional WR gas tank, new radiator shrouds, seat, and a couple of WR rear fenders. A new OEM style graphics set, some extra oil filters, a couple of air filters and some miscellaneous bits and pieces.  Stock pipe, additional tank and shrouds, headlight, graphics set, etc... Also spare levers, a good used set of front brake pads, full skid plate, frame guards, original clutch and hot start cables. The bag has a few of the electrics removed when the dual sport kit was installed. See the last 2 pictures.

Will make a better deal for a trailblazer if interested!!  Here is a link to the CL ad if you need more information or additional pictures.  (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

*****I will include all the original and spare parts I have with the bike for the asking price of $3999.***** The spare parts alone are worth over $1000.

I encourage you to come take a look at this bike it won't last long. Additional photos are available upon request. Just let me know if you want additional pictures or information. For those interested in this bike from outside the Carolinas, I will consider shipping at the buyers expense.  THANKS for Looking!

Nice WR! The new CRF450L is rated at 25 ponies too. Pretty sad for a 450. My 2008 Husqvarna TE250 has more than that!
