We are looking to start up a fundraising committee so we are looking for a few great volunteers who want to join. If you're interested, please post here or let any board member know. You can also email me directly at [email protected]

This would involve reaching out to any entities that the committee or the board think would be possible sources of donations etc. It would likely involve a certain amount of paperwork and following of procedures since most companies have specific ways they want you to apply for stuff.

As an organization, we've never really had volunteers who were specifically committed to this task and we feel like we could make some great strides if we could get a couple of people to step up and fill this need. We need people who are good with people, don't mind asking for money and can promote a positive message in a way that will convince companies to invest in mountain biking.

Thanks! Emily

Just to add to the sell: everybody wants professionally built options in Charlotte. Not to replace hand built singletrack, but to complement it. We've had some recent success, with the Beatty pump track, the LNSP bike-a-thon, and the Dixie River trails (pending a parking lot build). I've seen lots of comments asking how to get this stuff at your local trail. This is how.

A few of us have some experience with fundraising, but it's our hope to get better at this and bring bigger projects, faster. If you have relevant experience, we'd love your help and to learn from you. And if you don't have any experience but want to help in this manner, we could certainly use all the help we can get, and will get you up to speed quick.

Does that count as a fundraising donation  Huh lol

In all seriousness, like Bryan mentioned we need some savy folks to help us dial up fundraising.  Other communities in our area have bad ass bike parks, Boone, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Hickory, Johnson City, etc. and we want some of that action too.  If you want top of the line facilities you've got to pay, so fundraising is going to be some of the most important work we do!

As an example, Lake Hickory Trails just built a bike park from start to finish (City approval to grand opening) in just over a year.  6 miles of trail, two jump lines and a big pump track.  That 1 year timeline included the fundraising, planning and professional building of the mtb park.  Fundraising can help us get projects built fast so we can shred more, please consider helping out!

I could probably help out with this, let me know what next steps might look like. I should probably join the club first, that might be helpful......
