	Dockless rental bike company Ofo is leaving Charlotte and apparently dumping many of their bikes. Does anyone know if any other these made their way out of the scrap heep intact? This is such a huge waste. They should have donated all of them to Charlotte Recyclery and/or other similar organizations. Even with their proprietary components, they are still very usable once the electronic wheel lock is removed. Hell! They could have removed the lock, gave each a half-ass paint job, driven to any number of disadvantaged neighborhoods or apartment complexes around town, and gave them away. 	Holy cow! How could an industry get the numbers SO VERY WRONG? This is absolutely irresponsible behavior! The public should confiscate all of them and do so as a fine to the companies and then transform the massive collection into free-for-the-taking bikes for ownership. Yes, I do realize that the article linked to below is profiling what does or has existed in China and not the U.S. Despite this, it still affects everyone around the world eventually and suggest that these companies could be mismanaged more broadly. It also suggest that history is to tell us eventually that they are a plague. If there wasn't a buck to be made they wouldn't have been here in the first place. From what I've seen from uptown lately there is a glut of those damn things. Most often they are seen dumped in the weeds looking like the spot the drunk rider fell off of them. Now that the E scooters are available to surf the sidewalks who wants to borrow a bike?
