Not really right now.  We're trying to get the project team back together to get a cohesive direction moving forward for the next phase after the trail loop has been finished.  There also isn't room to park many people so there likely won't be any posted workdays to the public for some time until there is infrastructure to support it.

How about set a meeting place where we could all carpool from for a big workday and party out at Dixie when you have some machines for digging and need many hands to shape and groom some fast lines and big jumps?  Need to get a Neko bus for trailwork assault team strike missions!  New Year's Party? New Year's Resolution:  Gonna build the biggest jumps in NC by spring?

Sweet video, look like it is really coming along nicely there. The big hip jump on A-line is something i have not been able to figure out yet. Looks like this may be a better starting jump:)

I couldn't figure out where it was exactly. I thought it was going to be at the bottom of A-line but did not see it. Where is it on the trail again?

Any workday posted so folks can come and help the inside crew working on DRT?  If planning to visit to check out the scene and take a ride, what are the directions?  Thanks

It would be best to have an increase in volunteers carpooling to fit the 4-5 car suggested limit and then directed in small groups on specific projects to help.  Limiting work to just the insiders prolongs the amount of time the trial will stay private and closed to the entire club.  If club funds are going to support this trail, there should be an open and welcoming invitation to club members and supporters in the community to show up and work if willing.  Don't send me a personal invitation because your targeting of me as a potential trespasser and exclusion of my offer to help work reveals a passive aggressive hostility that does not align with the usual standards lived out by this wonderful group of people.  I'll work and ride elsewhere, and I will not be renewing my club membership.

Yep, you nailed it.  The Dead Poets Trail Building Society.  You may be in the club but you're not really in the club.

What part of not having a parking lot do you guys not understand?  Putting the hours in now only increases the frustration and increases the number of riders poaching the trail. This in turn pisses off the land owner who did ask folks to hold off till the infrastructure was in place. How about being a little patient and positive in your tone rather than sniveling like a 3 yr old.

Referring to people who are offering up time to help build the trail as trespassers is kinda douchy.

Hey all, I know the current situation at Dixie is incredibly frustrating. We want to get people out there as soon as possible. The trails NEED tires on them. And we'd love to have a bunch of volunteers out there. There just isn't room at the moment.

The situation with the parking lot had a lot of red tape. There has finally been some movement in the past couple of weeks, and hopefully we will have some good news in the near future.

Let's all simmer down here.  For those readers out there, discontinuing support for the Trailblazers because of the way this project is unfolding is absolutely a knee jerk reaction.  I don't know if explaining any more than has already been said will help the dissenters in this forum, but for the others out there here is some info straight from the source.  Straight from your volunteer board member who guided a massive master plan partnership with Crescent and the County, who convinced Crescent to pony up serious $$$ to have a pro build ~5 miles of what will be some of the best single track in our region, who applied for and received REI grant funding to build a sick expert jump line for the project, who... You get the picture, I  know what's going on with the project, I've been working on it for multiple years behind the scenes to bring it to life.  More meetings that I wish on anyone...

There was never supposed to be as many folks accessing the property as there are right now prior to a parking lot being built.  Somewhere along the line the keys to the gate got passed around farther than they should have and now we're in a situation where folks are feeling left out, I can see that side of the story.  We've been working on a relatively limited scope "phase 1" of the project while the parking lot stuff if getting figured out so we can have something ride when the lot is done.  There is soooo much more to build as this project develops over the next 5 years.  Yes, it's that big of a project that it won't be fully built out for likely more than 5 years (between the city parcel and all of Crescent's open space trails).  When we need and can handle more volunteers we will get you out here.

With that said, the Trailblazers will be coming to the community for support to raise substantial funds to build out phase 2.  We will also be seeking grants to leverage our fundraised dollars further.  Hang tight folks, there is no secret society, just your friendly neighborhood volunteers spending all of their free time to expand our mtb opportunities.

A mountain bike park is coming to Charlotte and we can't wait to give the community a full presentation and overview when the time is right.  That's all from me for now, back to the grind of making sure we can get this project in line for a "soft opening"

So how would you react if you were kind enough to offer access to you back yard and people started showing up before the job was finished, parking in front of your neighbors house and generally making trouble for you?  Would you or others continue to extend the use of your land in a similar fashion going forward? Do you think others would see this and think it was a good idea?  If you are truly interested in seeing the number and quality of trails in CLT increase then try to look beyond your own immediate  gratification and work with the folks trying to achieve those ends.

Unfortunately what makes it worse is everyone posting videos on social media. I would send out a message to all responsible to stop posting videos of Whiskey Tango jumping through the lines.

Cant wait to officially come out and ride it with everyone else. Thanks for everything Will and crew!

That has gotten out of hand for sure and has been addressed.  It's a by product of too many people being out there.  When the number go so big that I don't even know who has access to the property it's been hard to stop the posts.

How about everyone just chills and waits until we (the club) get the parking lot situation sorted out.  Crescent was bought out by a Japanese Timber company last year but not sure if that's had an effect on getting the parking lot in place or not.  Either way, the board (especially Will ) have been working diligently for the past couple of years to make this come to bear.  It's been and incredibly frustrating process but we are at the mercy of the land owners for the time being.

When it all gets worked out we will be the first one's to post up and let people know.

So then kill any thread with a reference to Dixie River in it or legitimize it and post a sticky with the cavaeot the trail is not open and anyone riding it (which it's obvious people are) is subject to prosecution.

Seems pretty legitimate though.
