Please help me understand something-Are both the trail and the parking lot on Crescent property?
Or are both on County Park property that Crescent donated?

Simple answer is that we (TTB) have an agreement to develop trails on ~120 acres of City property that is being leased to Meck County.  Crescent (developers of the river district) heard we were going to develop trail there and were interested.  They control the 1500 acres surrounding the City parcel we have access to and we completed a master plan with Crescent that shows how trail will connect from our central "bike park" through the open space within their massive development.

Hopefully in a month we will be asking the couple thousand people who have viewed this thread to donate to a project (with plans, cost estimates and specifics) that will help us build out the trails and skills areas on the 120 acres of public land for the bike park.  The other trails on Crescent's surrounding property will come online as they build out the river district, or if Crescent decides to fund them sooner.

Ok thanks, that helps me understand a bit. Mark mentioned an ownership change with Crescent as a possible delay which should not matter if the trail and proposed parking lot are on City/County property.  My concern was that Crescent may hold the keys to the parking lot in which you may not get it until it suits their needs. If it is simply that the County can't get it together to build a parking lot then I get it.

Thank you for all the time and effort the club and the board members have put into this project. Count me in for a donation when the ask goes out.

I look forward to riding this trail when access is permitted. What's built looks like a blast and the potential for more is pretty cool and exciting. Until then, I'll continue to ride and enjoy the many miles of trail built by the TTB and easily accessible within the CLT area. My favorite being the original Catawba trails that never get tired.

+1.  Gotta love the original!  I counted 43 trails on the trails page, 16 in Charlotte.

The club has so much more property that could be had but we just don’t have enough people willing to step up and get some of this free property for more trails.

How about everyone just chills and waits until we (the club) get the parking lot situation sorted out.  Crescent was bought out by a Japanese Timber company last year but not sure if that's had an effect on getting the parking lot in place or not.  Either way, the board (especially Will ) have been working diligently for the past couple of years to make this come to bear.  It's been and incredibly frustrating process but we are at the mercy of the land owners for the time being.

When it all gets worked out we will be the first one's to post up and let people know.

Probably, Have not been out there in a few weeks because I was working on another project. I will drag a rake over the top to make sure we can still find them later.

Ground has not been broken on the parking lot but it is supposed to be close. Will post a pic when it happens.

No.  Speaking for the hand-built XC... Enough is being done out there to keep what has been worked on from falling into neglect.  Damn that Autumn Olive though!!!  Spring has already sprung out there.   Angry
