Best way to store your bike between rides?

Now that I'm fairly well moved in to my house, my next step is to organize my garage with my bikes and other toys into a neat setup.  Since I just spent too much money on a new carbon Intense Sniper, I'm wanting to at least take really good care of it and store it between rides in the best way.

What is the best thing to do?  Rack, hang from hooks, upside down, or just lay it over?  I worry about hanging from hooks on the wheels because it might warp them out of shape.

Something like this would be cool, but I doubt that it will work on fatter MTB tires and disk brakes.  (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Hanging from the wheels won't warp them.  If you hang it, hang it by the rear.  I rack mine, but occasionally will invert overnight just to get some oil to the top of the fork.  Inverting the bike or hanging by the rear for long periods (more than overnight) with hydraulic brakes can cause air to move and force a brake bleed to get everything working again.

I have two of those racks and they work well. You do need to be careful with the rotors however.

Are you saying you have two of the racks I posted a link to?  If so, I would love to hear your insight on them.  How well do yours fit MTB tires?

Search for a scorpion bike stand by far my favorite, easy to use and allows for easy maintenance like lubing chain.

Others have commented on specific hangers, etc., but I just want to reiterate what one person said about disc brakes. If you have disc brakes, you should store it upright so that any air in the system doesn't move to the calipers. It can cause spongy brakes or worse. However, with an oil fork then right before your ride it's a good idea to turn the bike upside down for around 5 minutes to get the oil rings at the top of your fork saturated with fork oil so you won't be riding with dry stanchions. This is not enough time for air in your brakes to migrate.

Something I cobbled together out of wood scraps. Works great for removing/installing dropper posts, and working on cranks or pedals where high torque specs are required. Keeping the wheels on the ground eliminates the stress from the torque wrench going into the seat post or frame when using a standard work stand.

This one is great for storage to free up floor space. I got a Blue Hawk one from Lowe's for like $20-25

Both of those are nice looking bike racks.  Mind if I copy your ideas?

I use this hanger I got from Home Depot.  Hangs the bike upright from the handlebar and seat and is suspended from the ceiling.  The rope that came with it wasn't great so I bought another piece of that to replace it.

Just ordered one.  Thanks for pointing me to that.  I'm hoping it will work as a maintenance stand to use in cleaning and lubing the drive train.  Will probably swing around a bit, but for $15 you can't go wrong.
