Do you use foam rollers to help with legs tension or do you have other methods?

Yep, they work really well,  I roll a few times a day for best results.  Hips, hammy and IT band.  I'll sometimes roll to warm up before a ride, particularly a road ride.

Hammy = Hamstrings?

Yes and its great.

One of the THE BEST things for recovery and overall fitness is Self-Myofascial Release... sounds dirtier than it is.

I do 15 min of Yoga and foam roll 15 min every day focusing mostly on legs/hips/shoulders... areas that get beat up during rides. I go longer after big rides or if I have the time.

Gotta make sure you do it correctly for best results I have found.

Yes true, about shoulders i am interested to know more. Could you share a link? I do first underneath the knee area then i do the calf center and lateral. Last hamstring front and lateral. But never did the shoulders. I just got a roller from Indiegogo for rolling spine and shoulders, and after a week i start to feel benefits as I was over a year I had pains in the trapezius and shoulder blades muscles.

You and me both.
These young people are started very early, and their training sessions are something the untrained eye would think bordered on abuse. But the results speak for themselves.

One thing I've learned.
If you don't try, nothing is possible.

Tons of mobility stuff on the web and over at YouTube.
In my view, it's a necessity to keep yourself from getting less mobile and prone to injury from the same singular repetitive movements, and the modern lifestyle.

Nothing wrong with a foam roller. It is more of an aid to stretching and mobility, than an answer unto itself.

Yep foam rolling is just an help stretching is a must. I did in my youth Judo and i know the importance of a good stretch. Sometimes people at trails looks me funny as I do my set of post ride stretches (i do not believe in pre ride ad I am not warm enough) but who cares. Immobility is what kills you. My dad is 93 and walks over 2 miles a day just for that reason to keep the body going.

Good for your dad. Walking/hiking is great exercise. And due to our mobile lifestyles, the older we get the less we do of it.

Try this;

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

7 day free trial.

Do the self assessment.

This will give you a decent mobility baseline and what areas need more attention.

For those avid foam rollers out there, I'd recommend getting one of these 5" foam balls for your hip flexors (psoas muscles).   Strangely, these muscles seem to be the cause of my back tightness on long rides.  I'd tried everything, stretching hamstrings, core strengthening, IT foam rolling, etc...but this little magic ball seems to help the most.
