TARHEEL TRAILBLAZERS SURVEY
11/20/18 at 4:27pm
Print Post
The Tarheel Trailblazers Member and Trail User Survey is now open and seeking opinions of mountain bikers to help shape our club, the trails we build, and the activities and projects in which we engage for years to come. You do not need to be a member of the club to complete the survey. Between November 20 and December 28, anyone who rides our mountain bike trails is encouraged to take the survey.

The survey may only be taken once per person and answers will be anonymous. Tarheel Trailblazers will own the data and use it to guide its efforts. A summary of the findings will be presented at the club meeting February 7, and will be made available online after that date.

I did it, but not necessarily just before I wrote this note, so don't go trying to line up this note with the submissions on the survey to figure out which answers were mine.

That part about being anonymous was a lie anyways. We’re scraping your private browser history to blackmail historic donations for 2019.

That previous post was a lie. We need to hear from everybody! You can’t complain if you don’t vote. And you can’t write if you don’t relate. So trade the cash for the beef something something lost the thread.

Something about Wal-Mart's Bentonville Arkansas trail system just feels sleazy to me for some reason. Just a little off. Grin

That poor attitude right there is why Charlotte will not move forward with its  trail systems

Great video. The attitude in Bentonville sounds a lot like Rock Hill, SC.  They have invested millions into the Velodrome, BMX track and crit courses they have built over the past several years and understand the pay off is there IF you do it right. While they do have some trails around the property they might be open for expansion. After all Mike King was a DH World Champion back in the 90’s and Thad and Tom are great folks as well.  At the very least it’s a great local success story that could be built upon by other communities.

Your posts gave me a good chuckle since you're comparing a town of 35,000 with a bike park to a city of 859,000 with 210 parks and facilities some of which have existing mountain bike trails, 49 miles of greenways with more on the way, and a nationally recognized outdoor recreation center.  Mecklenburg Parks and Recs has done their job very well of providing facilities for the masses.  Some people just have zero appreciation of what has been made available.  I think the THTB have done an amazing job to bring trails to publicly held lands and they are continuing to build relationships with land managers for more additions.  I do not know where you originated but as a native Charlottean, I invite you to move back if you are so unhappy here.  I am sure everything is better there and they probably miss you.  Charlotte was fine before you arrived and will be so long after you are gone.

It's important to note that these trails in the video have a FULL TIME PAID CREW that maintains them.  Last I checked none of us are getting paid to maintain the trails around Charlotte which makes our trail system all the more impressive in my mind.
