The Senate just passed a major bipartisan package of public lands bills that includes permanent reauthorization for the Land and Water Conservation Fund, among other stellar news for mountain bikers. The package improves federal funding for trails and designates millions of acres of public land in a variety of new land protections that have been vetted and influenced by IMBA, IMBA Local groups and other recreation partners. The last time public lands legislation this monumental was passed, mountain biking took some hits. A decade later, we’ve tipped the scales in a big way thanks to active and engaged mountain bikers across the country, like you. There's plenty of good news for mountain bikers in the package.
The next step is a vote in the House. If you support the package, please write your Senators to thank them for passing the package, then ask your House members to vote on it quickly. Send both messages with one click!

The public lands package has passed Congress!
 
We did it! YOU did it! The House has passed the public lands package by a margin of 363-62, following the Senate’s vote of 92-8 just two weeks ago. Now the package will go to the President's desk, where we expect it to become law.
This win is an important victory for mountain bikers and everyone who loves getting outside. This historic package includes permanent reauthorization for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) to support recreation projects across the country, and the Every Kid Outdoors Act to get all fourth graders outside. It has great protections and enhanced opportunities for mountain bike trails with the Emery County Public Lands Initiative, McCoy Flats designation and Mountains to Sound Greenway bill.
You helped make it happen by reaching out to your lawmakers time and again over the past several months. Thanks for getting the public lands package across the finish line.
