What a hidden gem of  a place! Super trail surface drains well, the layout is really fun and the flow is exceptional. It was in fantastic shape today. Kudos to the TCs!

The new 1.9ish miles are going to be great once they are done.

Glad to see these positive reviews for my local trails, which can stand with any in the area.  Big shout out to Gene D. for all of the trail work he has done over the years as well as all of the maintenance he continues to do to at SCP.

It's not surprising to me that 'hand-built' single track was the favorite choice of riders in the survey and SCP has nothing but.  In fact, if anyone wants to pitch in and build some fresh, local, artisanal, hand-made single track, we'd be glad for the help.  We're working every weekend on the new loop and have room to expand even more.  Follow the 2019 thread on the down & dirty/trail work category to stay up on the schedule.

Could not agree more about Community, I also help Gene.  We are also moving along nicely with Finch Park up the road 15 miles in Lexington.  We are far more confined there but will end up with at least 3.5 miles of trail by (my guess) summer.

The front page has that info on the far left side of the screen. Recently just look for the column of red due to the insane amount of rain we have experienced...

Yep, I know all about that and yes I know all about the rain and closures and how long it takes stuff to be ridable again.

Salisbury is not listed here and never has to my knowledge and I'm just wondering if it's listed anywhere else.

POSTED RULE:  "Do not ride for 24 hours after rain."

If a lot of continuous rain, hurricane etc. as recently,  use your common sense man.

This has worked well for 9 years.  The trail was/is 100% hand built and maintained by volunteers. This includes supplies and tools.

Note that this trail is in ROWAN County.  While some things are posted on the trailblazers site (and that is much appreciated), the trail in Rowan is not eligible for all the benefits as in Cabarrus and Mecklenburg Counties. Not complaining, just stating how it is.

Many riders in Rowan County are members of the trailblazers, we enjoy riding your trails and thank you for the hard work.

The question was very simple.
It was do you post trail closures anywhere or is it best judgement. I don’t have that in my notes from our NICA venue survey.
The question was not will it be ridable tomorrow. It’s pretty obvious nothing will be ridable for a while.

The answer is best judgement that was all that needed to be said.

To MLong623

Glad you made the most recent post.  The question WAS very simple and I gave a simple answer to YOUR QUESTION.

But I received several private questions yesterday......not on this string, and that was the reason  for the comprehensive answers.

Was wondering if you have rode the trail?

If you're curious if it has rained in the last 24 hours at SCP, the closest weather station is just a few miles to the west at the Piedmont Research Station.  Current precipitation data is typically available at this link:

There's a couple of Iredell trails listed
