Renni Status

I tried Renni about 10 days - 2 weeks ago when the trail status had showed closed for quite some time. The status was right - it should have been closed (except for short track and the rest of Ball field side). Tennis court loop had several trees down and some questionable drops into mud bogs of unknowable depth. The connector was a complete mess due to the Winter monsoons. Status now shows open - has someone(s) been hard at work out there? Maybe Greg or Rocky?

I like Renni for a lunch or right after work ride so would love to put it in the rotation again.

Go ride. Greg and i (mostly grey) cleared the trees. I have started some reroutes around the mud holes (2 of 5 complete) and will continue working on those over the next few weeks. We are also going to be connecting back some of the original trail on City Park land over the next few months and should have it back to 8ish mile of trail by mid summer

I'm glad that this is an environment where you feel free to fail.

That's terrific news! Thanks to both of you for the work. Looking to see Renni back to her "old school" glory. Let us know if you have any work days, on the old or new stuff.

Worse than any other place. I don't go there for anything but short track racing.

So if you only go out for short track, how do you know? There was a rash or break ins 3-4 years ago, but have not heard from the ranger of there being one in over 2 years. Soo, park near others and don’t leave valuables.

I now always park at Tennis Courts side. Don't recall ever hearing of a problem there.

Parked there 30-40 times, never had a problem.

Thanks for the work there!  That trail is a few blocks from work and really convenient.  I’m really new to Charlotte and it’s been awesome to have access to fun little track.  I’d be interested in upcoming workdays to reopen the City Park trails.
