There was a time in the past that you could hop on this forum and there'd be many people and active conversation.  Now the second post down may be weeks old.

Sad times really.  I blame @team_dicky for all the suckiness.

Anywhoooo.....See you chuts on the hill one day.

we are all out riding, not talking about riding because of how awesome our local trail gnomes are about keeping things in tip top condition.

Seems like the most logical answer.

MTB isn't dead. Forums are dead. MTB happens outside. More new trail projects than you can shake a Pulaski at, and all of them more high quality and badass than the next. We filled up the Purser Hulsey parking lot last night. Was perfect weather for a ride.

Somebody should cut a root out on a trail. That always used to stir things up. And if you really want to get it going, then blow leaves off the trail.

I rode the BYT yesterday for the 1st time in a long time and couldn't wipe the grin from my mug the whole ride.   The reroutes and direction changes on the interior sections are awesome!  I love the way the trail ties in with the greenway & PRP is nothing short of pure joy.
What a gem we have in the BYT!

Forums are not Facebook.  All you need to look at is the activity on Charlotte Bike Market Facebook page compared to the Marketplace forum on this site.

This site / method of communication is 10+ years ago.  It's not that people are out riding and have no time to  comment.  They do, just not here.

I see more riders than ever out on the trails.

But it's hard to disagree most conversation has moved to Facebook; some hobbies I'm into have even moved out of forums and Facebook and into Discord servers.

Despite that, the forums here seemed to always be a little slower in the winter with all the rain (usually a freeze/thaw cycle that this particular winter managed to miss).  As for myself my own participation surged and waned depending on how much I was actually riding my mountain bike as opposed to my road bike, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Agree.  Was at Springs the other night and it was packed.  Saw several groups of young pre teen riders that were pretty serious moving at a fast pace.  Cool to see the next generation riders.

I think we’re saying the same thing. Forums across every hobby are much quieter than 10 years ago. Largely because of social media. CLT-MTB Facebook group is very active, if that’s what you’re looking for.

I'm over on FaceBook getting ready to complain about a jump I didn't build that I haven't ridden yet.
