Been yesterday and frankly I think that THTB needs to close the portion with mud until a solution is not found, The trail is getting ruined in that area. Just like the turn after the stream crossing.
This is a new fantastic trail and we should preserve it. The trail route can be changed to create a short two way in the first bridge area.

That mud section of trail will be lopped off as soon as we get the materials promised from the town. Future park plans have a park road and a pond planned for that area anyway. I always new that section of trail would be unsustainable. It got raked in because people wanted the loops connected but it was always temporary. 
I am really ready to be done with that 1 so I can return my efforts to Dixie and help out at Mountain Island, just need the materials. I will follow up with the town. Sorry for the delay but sometimes things are beyond my control.

Personally I think you did a super job, I love this trail and is one of my favorites in South Charlotte. Also the couple working there is so nice. My post obviously is aimed to you guys but I hope is read by all the other users of the trail trying to preserve it as much as we can.
In regards to the city plan I have heard they are in the limbo because of the cost of the project. Maybe in 2020 they will ask for a bond. The city should consider to help the trail project as there are plenty of people who uses this trail and not only mtb's and frankly Beatty is overcrowded for any outdoor activity.
