Ok, pulled the trigger and landed in the pond.
Have the frame secured.
I need advice on wheel-sets and drive trains and not so much fork (Pike).

Comparing wheelsets to Aeffect-R.

Drive train = SRAM GX?

I know its a beaten dead horse......humor me.....

Help us with some more details!  What frame?  Where do you ride mostly?  Are you a strong climber or is climbing just a means to an end?  I'm about to start a frame up build here in the next month.

Did you pick up that green XL Following?

Fork: Pike/Lyrik
Fork mod: Luftkappe/Debonair (if not 2018+ fork)
Drivetrain: GX/SLX
Brakes: SLX/Guide RS
Wheelset: Aeffect R is pretty good. I've got a set. 40 POE I believe. I also have a set of Derby's laced to DT 350's with 54T ratchet and like those a lot. Buddy has good luck with Flow MK3's.

I run GX on my bike. Took me a few rides to get used to it but I prefer it to Shimano now. I have both XD and Shimano free hubs for the DT wheelset, so when my XG cassette runs out I am going to get SLX because it is half the price.

I pickuped a used 2018 Following.  Looking at the frame on my Den floor now.
Still jacking around on the spread sheet and figuring the build.
Namely the big three:
1) Fork - Rockshox Pike or go rogue Manitou
2) Drive train/Brakes - Shimano XT M8100
3) Wheels - I9 with Hydra

Out of control spiral..............
Smiley

Thanks for asking!

If you have not bought the wheels already, look into Sram 900 hubs (60POE) with DT XM481 hoops.  This setup is basically their high end 1501 wheels but with with less expensive hubs.  The DT350 & 240 hubs are not bad, but have terrible POE.
