Doctor recommendations ?

I don't know if this is a lingering bike injury or not, but I know something happened about two years from playing disc golf. Now a similar "pain" is recently back in my shoulder. I've been off my bike since August and haven't had any real physical activity due a bike concussion incident.  Yeah...that was fun.  I don't remember any of it, only know what I've been told.

So in short, any doctor recommendations for a "shoulder injury?"

Ortho Carolina Sports Medicine.  Dr. James Fleischli.  Has handled several biking-related shoulder injuries for me, as well as a knee injury.

Dr. Nady Hamid, at the Ortho Carolina Shoulder & Elbow Center, Randolph Rd. Dr. Hamid rebuild my shattered collarbone a few years back. Nice guy who did a great job and had me back on single track in 3 months. I had no issues and still don't, everything went smoothly. He is also going to repair a rotator cuff tear for my wife. She is a medical professional and wouldn't let anyone touch her if she wasn't confident in them. I would recommend avoiding a nerve block, not worth the risk. Against my better judgement I let the anesthesiologists talk me into a nerve block for a broken ankle. It should have lasted 12 hours. A year and a half later my foot still tingles like it fell asleep 24-7. NOT WORTH THE RISK!

Figured I'd followup, the doc said it in something-itis (tendonitis) in the shoulder. On first go around, he gave a cortisone injection and  said to pop 3 Advil twice a day for two weeks. The arm did get better, but i feel like this is a just a Band-Aid fit. It's very manageable, but still isn't 100%.  No PT was recommended.

It appears to be the muscle that goes over the arm socket.  It looks like the bursa (shoulder bursitis ), but don't remember him mentioning that name.

Because I'm a web doctor  Grin Shocked...

If rest doesn't fix it..

Sometimes exercise and strengthening will.

I'd get a light resistance band and start doing shoulder strengthening and mobility exercises..
Lateral/front raises, band pull aparts, etc..
Tons of useful stuff on YouTube. Just look up shoulder rehab resistant band exercises.

Use it, or lose it as they say.

If it gets worse then you can see a doctor to rule out something mechanical.
