44mm vs 51mm Fork Offset

Im looking to upgrade the fork on my bike...it currently has a 44mm offset....the forks I'm looking at have 51mm offset....cant find a 44mm in the fork I want.

Has anyone done this....changed the offset due to changing forks....how does or will the bike react or handle?.....would it be even noticeable?

Thanks for any feedback

If you are adding a little more travel the 51 can work for you. I went from a 51 to 44 on my my 100mm race hardtail and it helped the high speed turning, but hurt the super slow like 1-2 mph turning.

The 51 offset is suppose to quicken up steering ever so slightly but it can very subtle

I forgot to mention I am planning on more travel...currently 120mm...wanting to go to 130mm or 140.  From Fox 32 to a 34.

Neither one will make your bike "unridable" and as mentioned above, the 44mm will make the bike more stable at higher speeds and gives more of a carving feel to turns rather than just turning the wheel and the bike pushing straight like the old XC bikes with steep head angles tend to do.
