Cedar Valley Bike Park... status?

Hey,

Perhaps I am just not in the know.  Why is Cedar Valley Bike Park showing as closed when Fisher/Allison Farm isn't.

Thanks,

Cedar Valley has more clay in its soil and the slope and drainage areas do not drain or dry as well as Fisher or Twisted Sister.

Tom is right that the various trails you can access out of the Fisher Farm lot have different characteristics which result in oftentimes staggered openings.

It's pretty nice that the gnomes out there are able to open whats ready while keeping the trails that need more time to recover (like Cedar) closed.

And riding wet or slick soils on features and jumps such as those found at Cedar Valley rounds odd the lips and landers, making the trail and features degrade a lot quicker over time.

I'm glad that this is an environment where you feel free to fail.

I rode the Fisher Farm, Allison Farm, and Cedar Valley trails yesterday.  I had never been on the Cedar Valley loop, and it was clear why it could see longer closures.  Once known, it would be an even better ride.  I noticed a lot of great improvements along the old Fisher Farm trails that have appeared since I was last up there.  Fisher Farm isn't a regular stop for me.

Now, as for the big boulder feature along Thunder Road up at the entrance road.  This is the one with bridge lead-in and 60-75° face.  I'd like to see video of people riding this that don't wear red capes and blue tights.

It is 100% mental, and requires no super powers.  The transition at the bottom is remarkably smooth, and gives the speed you need to roll into the next couple of features.  Evan and all did a stellar job getting it built.
