Stem help needed

So I have a Cannondale scalpel 800 with a headshok.  I ordered a new stem for it and itís completely the wrong size.   Based on Cannondaleís website I took the part number off of my original one and itís listed as a 25.4. However I ordered a 25.4 and thatís definitely not yet. This is an older Cannondale that I just bought thatís been garage kept and barely ridden so just trying to change a couple things on it

Let me correct myself.  The bar is def a 25.4 clamp.   But the clamp to the shock is quite a bit larger

If I remember correctly, those had a 1.5" steerer.  If you google search Cannondale 1.5" you may find what you need.

That's Cannondale for ya.  Always some weird proprietary specifications somewhere on any bike they made.

Exactly....   Well the killer deal on the bike I could not pass up and was built nice component wise.   So found out its a 1.56 and fortunately found a shorter stem so now my back hopefully will not kill me.
