I was able to get out for the grand opening and got some great riding in!  Although I've been on the project committee since we started the planning for the project in June of 2019, I hadn't seen anything at the park since ground was broken on the Carolina Thread trail in January of this year.  So it was the full unveiling experience for me on Saturday and man did it deliver!  A couple notes from my perspective:

The gravel surfaced Carolina Thread Trail is a really fun ride.  The gravel trail lays on the landscape nicely and has a bit of roll to it for water shedding purposes that is also fun for pumping.  There is some elevation gain as well along the 1.25 mile gravel trail that is an out and back connector through the park.  Remember to yield to walkers along the CTT it will be popular for walking.

The new 1.2 mile "Canopy" green mtb loop greatly exceeded my expectations.  I knew from the design it would be good but the execution was spot on!  The loop is essentially 1 climb and 1 descent (with an intermediate jump line option for the bottom portion of the descent).  There are literal tons of imported stone incorporated into the loop that provide progressive technical challenges (all optional) on the climb and descent.  The loop is very kid friendly and I (as an expert rider) had a blast unlocking alternate lines on the 5 or so laps I did on the loop.

The Euler's Way Trail and Legacy Trail are running great and are intuitive to navigate off of the CTT with the new signage.

Keep in mind this is only phase 1 of 3 for the project!  Phase 2 just kicked off construction this week and will add the most substantial mtb single track mileage to the park.  Phase 2 includes a 1.2 mile rock and feature filled loop named "Boulder Trail" and a .75 mile stretch of single track called "Eagle Trail".  The full project map can be found here:  (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Awesome.  Did the trails always run into Cramerton?

Kind of...  You could navigate your way out to Eagle Rd before but it wasn't a formal and accessible connection like it is today.

During planning for the project, Cramerton and Belmont decided to essentially incorporate the open space in Cramerton that bumped up to RBP into RBP and have a two town park.  The new Eagle trail (in construction this fall after Boulder trail is finished) is all on Cramerton property but will function as a seamless piece of the mtb experience.

Hit it yesterday.  Nice work!  Agree with Will's comments.

Will be great when the green loop beds in more.  Is already fast and flowy.

What a monster of a project.  Congratulations.
