As I was riding BYT Saturday I started out on leaf covered trails that were starting to break down and I found the trail easy to ride.  As I was wrapping up my ride I passed a gentleman who was blowing leaves off the trail exposing the damp trail underneath.  As Sunday's rain began to fall I was left wondering why are leaves being blown off of trails? 
I have ridden BYT for over 10 years and over that time I have noticed erosion on the trail and I'm wondering if letting the leaves remain on the trail is a better option.  The leaves will break down and rebuild the soil.  I'm sure this topic has been discussed before but what are some thoughts on this subject?
