XC Trails Adjacent to Greenways

Any chance of getting approval to add some short sections of XC trails in the land that parallels the greenway trails?  Meck Co GIS shows wider sections of owned land in select areas along the greenway.

It would be a great way to get new people and kids to sample mountain biking while they are out getting some exercise on the greenways.  It would also be fun to ride short sections of trail when out for a greenway ride.

I ride Park Rd Park, Backyard and the rouge trails near Boyce park when I'm out, and enjoy mixing them into rides, but some of those trails would be tough for new riders, and may discourage them from trying more trails.  Some light XC trails would be fun on a gravel bike, too.

My gut says official approvals will take more effort than building the trail itself. Just start riding in a path and people will follow. There are some great paths at the south end of the little sugar creek greenway. The “pineville woods trail” leads to the old regent golf course paths. I cleared trees and a rough path through the old Nations ford greenway that will take you to Anne springs which is basically xc trails (and free if you bike past the gate).

If you start building let me know, I’ll come help!
