Please be on the lookout for your renewal notices from IMBA/SORBA folks. January through March was usually the time we pushed for a membership drive, and we have lots of memberships coming up for renewal right now or in the very near future.

We still need every single dollar you can afford for the club to help maintain the current trails you ride, and also continuing to look for new opportunities.

The money from your dues helps us keep up our machines like the quad (that just happened to break down at a trail work day at Renni recently, so it needs a little TLC), Bobcat, Ditchwitch, the Volvo mini excavator, and umpteen chain saws. It helps us buy wood for some of the latest cool trail features like Enoch and crew put in at Sherman Branch, Cycelpath and crew put in at Fisher Farm, and all the good stuff that Gravitythief guy is doing out there at Beatty, and that's just to name a few...may also alow us to buy some more pulaskis to cut out roots at Beatty so Dicky can ride it once more Smiley

Also, the big RTP grant we're using to finish up LNSP we have to use our own money first, then get reimbursed by the state. Our bank account has to be in good shape to be able to do this, and to look for future RPT grant applicatoins.

These are just a few things your dues go for, so please think about us even in these tough economic times. Nothing relieves the stress of everyday life like a mountain bike ride.

My renewal has been a bit of a joke. They started notices 5 mo. in advance, sent in my money. I have got nothing but more notices. I give up.

If anyone is still having problems with their memberships, please drop us a line at membership@tarheeltrailblazers.com .

Note, IMBA is diligent with their reminders so you will most likely still receive renewal notices on a regular basis. But it doesn't mean that they haven't received your previous dues.

Besides, its only an email! Wink  Its not like they cut out your favorite root. :-D

I was NOT complaining about emails. Just saying I paid and nothing happens. Just keep getting more renewal notices. Hope LBS will give a TTB discount in good faith, that's the only thing I used the card for. And I just hope TTB gets their cut. That's all I was saying!!!

That's cool.  So you haven't gotten your membership card yet, right?  If not, drop us a line at the email address I gave you with your information and we'll look into it for you.

And yes, as Treasurer I can tell you we are getting our cut! Smiley

It took a while but with my family membership I finally got some confirmation including a pair of IMBA socks and a copy of dirt rag magazine.

Okay, I paid my money January 1, same as always...to date: no membership card, no stickers (which I used to get in the mail from Emily along with my card), no socks, no Dirt Rag magazine. What I do get is a reminder in the mail every few weeks that I NEED TO RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP!! This is not our club's fault but IMBA/SORBA really needs to get their $xut together. I don't really care about the swag but it is frustrating that our board members are working hard to make this relationship work and Big Brother does not seem to get it. END OF RANT...

I think some of the problems with IMBA may be growing pains. I recently received their trail newsletter and it said my membership expired in May. That would have been my original expiration date prior to the current setup with THTB. So IMO some of the issues are that wonderful bug called computer programming.

I purchased my membership on June 1st or 2nd, after reading this thread.
I still have not heard or seen anything from IMBA.

Two months and counting.

I'll keep you posted when I see something.

Update- After applying back in June, I just received my membership packet today!

I'm official and it only took a couple of months.

When I joined last October it took a few months to get anything back from the IMBA. When I renewed a month ago I got a renewal package in about a week and a half.

Your mileage may vary.

We are in the process of updating the links to IMBA's membership page.  They will pre-populated the application with the clubs information to streamline the process.  Stay tuned!

DZack,

Once you are on IMBA's membership roll, you should be able to register your club affiliation on their website. It probably won't get a portion of what you paid for this membership to the Blazers, but may add your number to the club on IMBA's rolls.

Every little bit helps.

Just curious, can you track how much comes through IMBA to THTB per member; not by name, but maybe by membership number? I renewed through IMBA, but the only affiliation to the Trailblazers is when I login to my account via the IMBA site. This is good, but I'd rather be able to ensure my membership dollars go to THTB
