Once again rain has CRUSHED our plans to get rad at Beatty tomorrow...



No ride this week but the forecast looks outstanding for the rest of the week

Finally!

We're back at Beatty Wednesday night to get rowdy on the trails. Come on out for some social paced pedaling and good times. The Beatty trail crew has been hard at work building awesome stuff for us to ride so come and check it out. 

Tennis Courts. 6:30pm. Ultimate Bicycle of Matthews raffle afterward. 

Also, join the trail crew for some pre-ride trail work!

I plan on being there.....I'll be playing around on the SS so ya'll don't make fun of the hamster-in-a-wheel spinning and wicked crazy jarring and bouncing off of roots.

Question...

The last few rides have been poorly attended so Im asking the THTB community for ideas as to what you guys want in a Social/Group ride, hopefully to boost attendance and be more social. As far as the Wednesday Beatty ride goes we pretty much do the same thing. Heres what Im thinking about changing and you guys let me know what works and doesnt...

Ride time of 6:30
- too early?
-too late?
I could do an early lap and a later lap since Im usually getting in a fast lap before the 6:30 social ride

Pace
-Too fast? 
-Too slow?
If its too slow I'd be fine with running a hot lap at 5:45 for the fasties out there...say :30min+/- lap pace? 
If its too fast then we'll slow it down with more breaks and maybe do more socializing?

Boring?
-Riding the same trail week after week can get old. Wednesday night is the only time I ride Beatty but Im open to bouncing around the S. Charlotte area too. WWC, Sherman, Springs, Renni, etc.


Lastly Im thinking about having skills clinics as part of the ride. Maybe the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. Anyone that would like to improve their skills whether it be front brake cornering, jumping, traversing obstacles, etc can come out. The specific skill we'd be working on would be announced in advance. Those not wanting to do the skills clinic could still ride and socialize afterward.

These are my ideas... Anyone else?

Should be able to make it out this week, are the rides only the blue/green portions or the blacks too? Also I assume you still meet in the tennis court parking lot?
