In addition to that suggestion, my suggestion would be regularly scheduled work days.  For example the 3rd Saturday of the month is at FJB or whatever.

Hmmmm....interesting. I kind of like that idea

It would assure that all the trails get some massaging on a regularly scheduled basis, barring any catastrophes/emergency repairs.

This is a bit off-topic but overall related.  Is it possible to have some sort of online mechanism to show trail status similar to what the White Water Center does?  Something quick and easy to see which trails may be open or closed due to weather or maintenance.

Wow, I'm more than a bit embarrassed.  I've never noticed the trail status section on the main page.  Thanks for the help and glad I could offer some brief amusement!

That would be a correct assumption. There were WELL in excess of 850 hours of volunteer trailwork done @ Beatty last year.

I am with Solar. We need signs that are all the same at every park. Most of them are beat up. I will need new ones when kiosk goes in. What is the differance in getting new tools if we have no one to use them. If the signs tell people what user group maintains and builds these trails is that not a good idea? We may get some help working on all the miles that we currently have and might get people to step up and take on more land (it is out there). I had a talk with Solar and he is willing to take on the sign challenge. I dont see any of you stroking your egos to dive in and help out. Just sit behind your keyboard and b***h. As for parking at the gate we only park to work and have to tell the plant manager so we dont get towed. A BIG thanks for those of you that have choosen to keep off the trails when we have this much rain. I can really tell a differance. Come on lets keep this going. Any other TC like to chime in??  Wink Lets beat this dead horse!!

So here's the deal. The trail coordinators are the goto guys for getting things done and getting resources for each park. As lead trail coordinator, I'm the person to contact when tools are needed, materials for bridges and features, SIGNAGE. You have my email address. Get together with gravitythief76 and find out where you need signage and let me know. I'll post pictures tomorrow of the signs that should be up.

This is the responsibility of the trail coordinators. Did you hear that David and Scott?  Wink

Is that a rhetorical question?  Who practically lives, breaths and poops BYT?  Here's a hint...

I was just making sure.  I wasn't sure why you were calling us out as the TC was the one requesting the signs for his trail.

For the record, I just proposed an idea to attempt to prevent one issue and try to drum up some additional volunteers, I won't lose any sleep if the signs don't get hung, but as Scott mentioned, I am willing to design some new ones if desired by anyone else in addition to Scott.

I wasn't trying to call anyone out just trying to give everyone the proper channels to use for issues like this.

If a TC is asking for signs, they need to contact me directly.  I don't take posting on the forums as a formal request.  If any of the trail coordinators need stuff for the trails, they know to contact me. Smiley

BTW more signs are being made so if David needs some he can drop me a line.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers.  I just thought this issue was properly dealt with and hasn't been.  So we'll get it straightened out! Smiley
