None yet.  I do know that they forced out the promoter that did a similar race like this for the last two years on the same date.

If it follows the same format you will start at Dark Mountain, then proceed to OVT and finish up at Warrior Creek.

It was a great race last year.

That was the point to point race which I think was around 34 miles. This race looks to be 60 miles - not sure that's in my wheelhouse right now. Didn't know they forced David out, that stinks - I was looking forward to the point to point or shiners revenge (whichever you wanna call it) this year.

I am curious as to how they are going to get 60 miles in there. The Pt2Pt was 37 and they used everything, from what I can tell. Anybody have any ideas how they are going to do that?

Yes, pt to pt was also escape from Dark Mountain was also Shiners Run....there were a lot of names for that race for the two years it ran. I did it both years, and it was fun. Late October in the hills riding Kerr Scott.....good stuff....

Maybe the new one takes you back to dark mountain somehow like a round trip.

I was thinking that too, but I think you'd have to use the road in order to do that.  They used the road in the previous race to link up OVT to Warrior Creek. It was about 2-3 miles of road.

In no particular order...6-7 mi of road+ OVT/Shiners(x2) + DM (x2) + Fishdam + WC OVT + WC Reverse + A dose of HW + some stuff your tires have never seen yet = 60+ mi. of bermiliciousness.

Exact cues will be released soon and so will reg. Until then, just trust Dicky.

"some stuff your tires have never seen"  What's this all about?  Secret trails with more berms than Warrior Creek?

Greetings, Trailblazers:

Just wanted to keep you all in the loop about the inaugural Wilkes 100K. Some updates have been posted here...

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

There are still over 30 spots left, but these will probably be gone by sometime next week.

Thanks for all of your continued support at the events at Kerr Scott, and thanks for all you do for trails!

So it looks like as of this morning the trails are closed. Was planning on going up there on Sunday Sad

Next weekend they are closed for whatever that other event is. So it's looking unlikely I'm going to be able to pre-ride this course. If the race doesn't get cancelled altogether.

WHen I ride Warrior Creek I always park on the back side on the school entrance. This is where the trail workers normaly park. I was just curious if Obama's goons have this area patroled off.

Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

Ok thanks. Not sure what we are going to decide to do.

When these goofballs are just messing around with universal healthcare and social security and the national debt I am like whatever but when they start messing with my mountain biking it gets serious!  Angry
