According to my poor math skills the trails have been closed 104 out of 193 days so far this year. In case you need more proof that it ... just ... won't ... stop ... raining

Drove down 85 yesterday on my way to Belmont. I dont remember ever seeing the Catawba that wide. My guess is a lot of the low lying trail by the river is under 3ft of water right now, at least. Gonna be a while before we're out there again. My road bike is getting a lot of miles though.

For once their trail closures are justified. I took the boat out last week and the launch was almost entirely underwater. The floating docks are waterlogged. If you head out on the river beware - there is a ton of floating debris (someone got killed on a Carolina river last week when his boat hit a submerged tree).

On the bright side we broke a record - the most summer rain in Charlotte's history. Over a foot since June 1.

Trails are still closed today. If the main trail lower section is underwater, just close it off and open the rest.  I want to ride.
