So just in case I do get fed up with NC and move next year, there is a trip I've always wanted to do, but I want to make it absolutely epic. I'd like to get up in Virginia (never ridden there, not familiar whatsoever with it) and ride in peak leaf season this fall. 

So my questions are:

When is peak leaf season there?
Where is an epic enduro style trail, 15-30 miles in length, with plenty of downhill, and camping near the trailhead?

And finally, Who else would like to come?

(always wanted to ride Shenandoah Ntl Forest)
