So I rode today for the first time at Baxter Village in Fort Mill SC. I found a map online and wrote down directions since the trail cuts through residential streets but I still got lost.

Does anyone on here ride at Baxter or have a map of the mountain bike trail? The map I had wasn't very specific and the trail splits off in a bunch of places with no markings.

It was a fun ride though, there are some crazy climbs. At the end there is an awesome spot that overlooks the Catawba river.

Check in at the bike shop in Baxter Village - Tailwinds, I believe. They have regular shop rides there. If not a guided tour, they might have a map or GPS file.

That place is confusing! Tailwinds is closing its doors, the last I heard about a week ago. They have night rides on Thu from the shop that's supposed to continue if you have interest in that. There was discussion about starting the Thu ride from the library when the shop closes its doors.

Oh it's not too bad.
You really need to have your first two rides out there with someone who knows the trail.
It is a great trail to ride at night...

Robert built it. You should ride his place if you would like more climbing. I have not been out to his property in a long time. Down in S.C. about 1 1/2 hours out I believe. Good stuff and you can camp.

Scott, are you talking about down in Heath Springs, in an area know as Hanging Rock Battleground?  I road there once, there's a lot of singletrack and 4 wheeler trail.  If you ride during hunting season, then wear orange.

I used to ride; now I just drink and cry about not riding.

Thanks, that one looks better than the one I had but there's a new section of subdivision that's not on there. I'll just keep exploring.

Also when I got to the end of the trail there were some guys just finishing a new section at the observation deck. Said I was the first to ride it  Smiley

I'll check with that bike shop too.

I couldn't figure it out either,  if you want to meet up there one day and explore let me know.  I live like 3 minutes from there.  10 minute ride.

Sounds good. I live in Rock Hill so I was looking for somewhere else close to ride besides Riverwalk and Anne Springs. I'm usually off work every Thursday Friday and Saturday.
